Our Local Astronaut, Doug Wheelock
7. November 2007 by MrBobC.
Life in Binghamton. Oxymoron? You be the judge. I’m Bob Sea, and I am enrolled in Binghamton University’s MBA program. We have some interesting things in Binghamton (and the surrounding areas). For instance, we have Doug Wheelock. Doug is an astronaut from Windsor, NY, near Binghamton. He arrived back on Earth today from space and is very safe. I will be doing a tribute to Doug, as my father and he were friends some years ago. Said tribute will be held at the Oakdale Mall in Johnson City, NY at 6:15PM on Monday, November 12th in front of JCPenney’s. The tribute will include a newly-fashioned song for the occasion, “Where Else But In America” and will be sung by me, Bob Sea, and the 4th and 5th grade Rainbow Chorus of the CR Weeks Elementary school (where Doug went) and will be telecast live on the WIVT Channel 34 news. Come on down and show your support for our local astronaut! More details on my website, http://www.bobsea.com. Doug Wheelock
Life at Binghamton University in November
7. November 2007 by admin.
Now that the clocks have been set back we are all set for the dark cold month of November. It seems to happen almost out of nowhere that if you have any class at 5:00PM or later when you get out it feels like its past midnight. I have actually gotten out of class at 7:30 and not known weather it was late at night or early in the morning. Luckily November is only one month of the year and soon there will be snow to make up for the lack of daylight.
Living like a poor Graduate Student… Sure…

I think the best and most interesting way to convey student life in Bing is by regularly submit some random photos here (with captions).
Dorms
One of the best parts of college is never EVER having your own space!
Here is my room when I was a sophomore during my undergrad in Mountain View.
Notice the millions of little nick nacks - the cramped space - my corner of the room.
Here is my room, well, last year. Oh, the joy of my OWN bathroom and my OWN room. Oh and minus the clutter.
On a final note:
Winter
Well, we are lacking some Fall weather right now, but Winter will definitely come… and here is a preview of our slushy future.

76 Degrees on October 22

Wow what is going on with the weather today. It is almost the end of October and the weather has been surprisingly warm. The normal weather for this time of the year shoud be 50 degreees and raining instead its 76 and sunny. It makes it much harder to work when the weather is so nice. Well that binghamotn for you I have no doubt that the rest of the week will be cold and rainy to make up for the nice weather we are having. Well I am off to enjoy the ret of this beautiful day.
